Argentinian-Mexican conductor Alex Amsel is Associate Conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, promoted from Assistant Conductor after his first season, and a regular presence at the George Enescu Festival. At home on both symphonic and operatic stages, he has led orchestras and opera companies across the United States and Europe, bringing to each a commitment to community, living composers, and music’s power to reshape how we understand the world around us. This season he made his debuts with Utah Opera and the Utah Symphony, with debuts still to come with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Timișoara Opera, and the Craiova and Bacău Philharmonics.
